A Wool Story

DSC_0374
As I wrote in my last post, my trusty old Nikon D50 bit the dust.

But I finally bought a new [well, it's old really (used), but new to me] camera, and I'm glad because it means I can finally share photos of this beautiful hat I received from A Wool Story. DSC_0239
I don't normally accept c/o stuff, but when Meg asked me to try out this wonderful hat from her shop, I immediately accepted--in part because her hats are wonderful, but also because I really dig the concept behind her work, and felt like it needed to be shared. In particular, the process is pretty compelling:

Meg scours thrift stores for high-quality knit sweaters. She then carefully unravels them and uses the yarn to create these fantastic hand-knit hats. When I opened my package, I was really delighted with the quality. I also found it to be perfect for this time of year. It's cozy enough for cold weather, but light enough for transitional weather.

  2. I remember when my D50 finally kicked the bucket. I got 6 beautiful years out of it! I was excited to upgrade though. That hat is lovely, and it's nice to see all the yarn is recycled. Thanks for sharing!

  4. Ca en devient énervant, même en changeant d'appareil photo, tes photographies sont toujours aussi splendides, d'une pureté rare. C'est incroyable!

    1. Hello! Yes, I've considered it, but ultimately decided against it because I'm trying to keep my internet life as separated as possible from my IRL life.
