I've read about your journey and I am so sad to see it end like this. Sometimes in life things get to a point where it is out of our hands to do anything about it but to just accept it. My condolences, she was a cutie - she seemed like a very wonderful and happy dog!
Hi Julia! This June I lost my beloved dog. It was so terribly shocking for my... I didn't know what to do whithout her. I hope you've had a chance to say "Goodbye" to Ivy. I haven't... That's the most important both for dog and for the owner. Take care! I truly believe that all dogs go to heaven.
This very simple post made me totally tear up. I have a 13 1/2 year old dog (a large dog too, so that's pretty old for him) and while he's been pretty healthy along the way, his body is starting to break down, and I am constantly wondering when his time will be and how it will happen. As a life-long pet lover and owner, I feel your pain and I'm so sorry for your loss. Pets are the kids that AREN'T supposed to outlive you, which is the albatross we all take on when we invite these little bundles of love into our lives, and it's never easy. I'm sure Ivy had the best little life any dog could want!!
Hello... I know how it felts, I lost my best friend Bam-Bam two years ago... I send you a big hug, I know that from somewhere Ivy Lou is taking care of you... maybe one day Ivy Lou meet to my Bam-Bam, I'm truly sorry for your loss. :C
i've been following your blog for a little while when I moved to Richmond. If you get a hug from a stranger on the street, it'll probably be me. So sorry for your baby.
I've followed you for a long time, but this is the first time I've commented, mostly because this hits too close. On Halloween we held our 8 yr old eternal puppy in our arms as she peacefully passed away, ending our battle with lymphoma that had metastasized to her brain/central nervous system. She was, without a doubt, one of the great loves of my life and our hearts are utterly broken. There is no bright side. Just trying to breathe and heal, a little, maybe, someday. From one suffering heart to another, I'm so so sorry for your loss.
Oh NO! my heart just broke. i am sooooo very sorry. i don't even know what to say except i know that true love for your pet that is huge and devastating and brave and eternal and thank goodness ivy lou knew that and felt that every day. soooo much more than a pet, she was a child and a friend and a sister and a real true beloved. i send you a huge dose of sympathy sweet girl and a hope that your heartache will be eased in time and you will remember every wondrous moment with ivy with love and happiness.
I am so sorry Julia. I will be keeping you in my thoughts.
