I thrifted a rad little camera from the 80s (kodak vr35 k40) and have been loving it. These are some recent shots of various places in the neighborhood where I live (the Fan) in Richmond. More here and here.
Richmond is really, really cute. I visited for the first time a few weeks ago. Parts of it look like you just stepped back in time. My east coast self was also not used to seeing sun in winter.
beautiful! I have like 5 rolls sitting in my desk I haven't developed for ages because everywhere I go is overpriced and some of the film is a weird size....I feel like I just need to bite the bullet- I don't even remember what the photos might be!
That makes it all the more exciting! It's like a surprise.
I just get mine developed at Target (the film gods died a little when they read that). It's a fair amount cheaper than it would be at a local film shop.
these pictures are amazing!! so awesome that they turned out so great w/ an old camera & expired film but i think that's what makes them extra special. esp love the old buildings & that kiss mark graffiti : ) Oh, & have you ever tried shutterfly for developing? the prints seem same as a target or convenience store but usually occasionally they send me free x amount of print emails. http://dusanabotswana.com/

ReplyDeleteI'm glad you liked it! It really is like you stepped into a time machine in some parts.
