So I want to start out by saying I'm sorry if I offended anyone with my last post. I received a lot of comments and emails regarding it- some sympathetic, others heartfelt and riled, others still...well, not so nice. I didn't meant to imply that the crafts or arts that we're passionate about aren't relatively valuable- well, actually I did mean to imply that at the time, but I often get caught up in my emotions and say things that are unreasonable. I still maintain most of what I said, though I guess I could have put it in a way that was a little less condemnatory.

On a separate note! This is what I wore yesterday.
I love site analytics because they tell you about things you just never would have found otherwise. Well, a week or two ago I saw that there was a fair amount of traffic coming from a Russian website called Buro 24/7. I went to the page and found that they had done a surprisingly large feature on La Belle Oiselle, and I had no idea about it.

I google translated it, which was predictably entertaining (my favorite sentence: "In our opinion, direct demeanor and fun bun on top of doing Julia Topaz worthy of attention.").

  1. I love the scarf, and the feature of "also worn here". I think its good that people think you've only worn it once though, because it shows you make it unique with every outfit! :)

  10. I just discovered your blog and I loove this outfit! very simple and easily remixed. Also, don't worry about what readers say. You can't please everyone, and you can't hold your tongue to make the kind of changes that you'd like to see. Just make sure your words are followed by actions, that's all we can do!

    on a more serious note, with regard to your apologetic explanation, it is gracious of you to explain your perspective and your state of mind at the time; the beauty of blogs is being able to publish our thoughts, our secrets, our ideas, even if transient and not steadfast, even at the expense of, potentially, others' ideals and thoughts, to the point of offense. the beauty of free speech! anyway, please, keep writing and sharing, and though we should be cognizant and respectful of others' opinions and sensibilities, let free speech reign.

    Plus never wear anything twice? I think they just got lazy in their writing a put up a bunch of fashion cliches to fluff up the article, and didn't necessarily do their research..., but we all do that every once and a while. ;)

  19. I love your photos! What camera do you use! Also, the skirt is perfect! It's a lot like one I own, but mine is much longer. Wish it was the same length as yours!
