urban sprouts

DSC_0411

I'll be moving back to Richmond soon and went up this weekend. There's this big warehouse full of awesome crap near where Ben lives. I forget what the place is called, but it's between an abandoned factory and a coffin provider.
Anyway, there's a room in this place that is packed to the hilt with mannequins. Every size, every shape, every gender, every color, and every position you could think of. Pictured below is only a small, small portion of the selection of mannequins and mannequin pieces available. A shop owner's dream.

if you want to destroy my sweater

DSC_0641

This is the last long-sleeve look till Fall, I feel it in my heart!

This sweater is so itchy and uncomfortable, but it's such a delightful shade of brown that I have a problem not wearing it. It actually belongs to Ben.

Lovely lovely lace detachable collar that I love oh so very much.

into the woods

This weekend Ben and I drove up to Ladysmith, Virginia to check out the Virginia Bazaar, an enormous indoor flea market. We thought, since it's pretty much in the middle of nowhere, that it'd be a sweet, old-timey flea market and we'd see lots of old nice people with fabulous world war antiques and good stories of yesteryear, and maybe even score some vintage pieces. We were quite mistaken. It was mostly vendors selling touristy-type knick knacks and coasters with Thomas Kinkade reproductions on them.

classique

I have owned this skirt for a year and a half and have literally never worn it before until now. Am I stupid or something?! This skirt is the perfect shape and length. Though I'd prefer if it were a color other than black, at least it goes with everything and makes any outfit instantly more classy.

I'm very proud of this bag. I found it in a thrift store for $2, to later find out that it was authentic vintage Coach. To top it off, I could only find this model number in two other places on the internet (yup, the WHOLE internet!), and they were selling for a hefty sum, so it's apparently pretty rare. Not sure if I want to sell it yet. On the one hand, I could always use the money, but on the other hand, I don't want to give it up, just because I'm so proud that I found it!

nadinoo spring/summer 11

I love Nadinoo. Their concept is always very clean and simplistic but there's still an attention to detail that's feminine and really quite lovely!

I'm always a fan of pastels.

I now own about 4 straw hats similar to this pink one of various sizes (one bright red that I wore a few outfits back). I think I'm addicted.
